Mulberry Bayswater in Vintage Tooled Oak Darwin Leather - SOLD

This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Bayswater

in oak tooled darwin leather with antiqed brass hardware.

 Now a vintage piece, its rare for the Nest to sell such a Well Loved piece but this Mulberry is just utterly stunning.

Crafted from an incredibly beautiful, thick and creasy darwin hide, its darkened with the years and developed a fabulous, rich patina.

A true work-horse of a bag, the craftmanship is superb.

Details -

The leather is fabulous. Wonderfully stiff, richly seasoned and with oodles of character that give this magnificent Bayswater so much charm.

Very little wear, the corners are darkened with only light surface rubbing and the edges of the tooling display minor curling but structurally and aesthetically, this marvellous Mulberry is a traditionalist's dream!

Handle bases show softening and inking loss and the shoulder straps are softened with darkening to the top areas where they've been hand held. No stretching or issues, inking is dry but in place (not sticky) and all stitching is intact and strong throughout.

The base has a super-creasy, but firm, texture and the hardware is very good with some friction rubs beneath the lockplates and light scratches to the Postmans Lock Plate.

The interior is entirely clean, (smells divine! ) and as is common on peices made during this era there is no serial number on the internal disc.

Shoulder straps are fixed with mid point drop of 13.5cm (which is common in tooled Bayswaters as the drop is often less than generous!)
