Mulberry Classic Heritage Bayswater in Oak Darwin Leather - SOLD

This is an unused, 100% authentic Mulberry Classic Heritage Bayswater in Oak Darwin Leather with Antiqued Brass Hardware.

Made in England.... the Mulberry icon.

Purchased on 12.03.07, before Mulberry applied Protective Film to hardware and still used the highest quality materials, its crafted from an incredibly lovely, thick, Darwin hide.

Strong, robust and so full of character, these pieces just get better and better with age and use

Details -

A rich caramel, oak tone, the structure is quite upright without being stiff, (see photo of the bag with cloche, padlock and keys detatched, when empty), its just supple enough to promise that wonderfully slouchiness that a Darwin hide develops with use.

The usual light surface impressions to the top flap from the reverse of the handle bases, all inking, (edge sealent) and stitching is in place and hardware excellent throughout.

As its never been carried, there's no wear and the amazing glossiness of a fabulous Darwin hide has yet to develop. The slightest seasoning to the leather around the corner curves that will develop to a beautiful patina with use and care, its a bag that you can be confident will become more fabulous every day.

A few light fingernail scuffs to the surface of the hide, as is part of the inherent nature of the finish and a small natural striation to the top LH side of the flap (see photo to the RH side of the Invoice)

An inconsistency in the surface of the grain on the top flap, just above the Postmans Lock Plate. See location indicated in the gallery photo with a zoomed photo to the side of it. Almost completely invisible to the naked eye.

A diagonal scratch to the upper LH rear of the bag, see location and photo next to it with the zoom, this will soon blend with use.

A a slightly darker, horizontal linear area, from edge to egde across the vertical leather overlaid strip on the LH side of the bag, as shown.

The main reason for the Condition Rating is due to the darkened mottling to the base*. Rather reminscent of tiger stripes, this has been caused by the natural oils in the leather 'pooling' in storage and with use and movement, these will disperse and soon blend entirely into the character of the bag.

The interior is self lined in suede with two leather slip pockets and zip section.
