Mulberry Vintage Shoulder Bag in Conker Brown Nile Leather - SOLD

This is a 100% authentic, Mulberry Vintage Shoulder Bag in Conker Brown Nile Leather with Antiqued Rose Gold Hardware. 

Part of Mulberrys historic 1971 designs (the year the brand was founded), this classic, elegant & lady-like briefcase, shoulder-satchel would have been 'the' formal design of the day.

Now more of a classy, everyday bag, its crafted from a firm, glossy, scale-printed hide with an almost aubergine glow.

Plenty of space for all the basics and more, there is a useful, rear slip pocket, concertina gusseted sides, a roomy central compartment with zipped pocket and a neat, front, slip section.

Sealing with a self locating popper, its semi structured with a firm base, (so absolutely no sagging) but with a lovely, soft feminine curviness that echoes in the attractively blouson shaped shoulder straps.

Accompanied by the Mulberry Tree embossed handbag mirror, you can connect with a bygone era where lipstick retouches on the go were mandatory!

Details

An old-skool beauty, its all entirely structurally sound and though a Collectors piece, its real purpose in life is for use....and its got many years service yet to give.

Lots of surface impressions, light scuffing and scratches, its colour consistent, well shaped, holding its silhouette perfectly when empty and stitching all strong.

Scuffing to the front, LH side's corner curve, as shown. The remainder are very good, without visible wear.

Lots of scratches to the hardware, (just look at the amazing craftmanship in the metalware!).... the Mulberry embossing to each of the shoulder straps base rings is truely glorious.

Shoulder straps are firm and well shaped. Inking, (edge sealent) is dry and a little worn and though the handle bases look quite tired on close inspection, all stitching and inking is secure and robust.

The interior is fully lined in entirely clean, dark chocolate Mulberry signature repeat jacquard fabric, (this is really rare to find!) and the zipped pocket in black Mulberry signature repeat jacquard fabric.

The only zip on this piece is the interior zipped pocket (its a Riri Suisse).

The handbag mirror's mirror is completely foiled due to age, so you would need to replace the glass if you intend to use.
