Mulberry Medium Top Handle Lily Cecily in Biscuit Brown Soft Croc Print Calfskin - SOLD

This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Medium Cecily in Biscuit Brown Soft Croc Print Calfskin Leather with shiny gold tone hardware. 

The Cecily, recently re-released by Mulberry as the 'Top-Handle Lily', has the same features  (excepting the cloche) but instead of the doubling chain there is an elegant braided top handle and fixed shoulder strap.

 Crafted from a caramel-gold toned, thick, embossed calfskin, equally at home as a day bag as for the evening, its a perfect balance of texture and tone.

A beautiful piece, the silhouette is still upright though the side panels have softened wonderfully, giving it a more relaxed and softer feel.

The Seller has included a multi pocket Felt Liner (which was used mainly to protect the lovely, suede lining) more than for structure.

The two side panels have a smaller scale print and from the moment created this finish will immediately show dimension and depth. Scales will begin to gently flex with the natural movement of the bag which is an inherent characteristic of the hide and not a fault. A number of curls to the scales throughout, (see last photo above), this is to be expected and forms part of this design.

A horizontal fingernail scratch to the front (underside of the flap, just above the base plate) and a similar hairline scratch to the front, upper LH side, (underside of the flap) as shown.

A 4mm catch to the central seam of the base which has broken the surface of the leather. Easily concealed by the application of the correct colour Collonil cream. Lighter scratches and scuffs are extremely well camoflagued by the nature of the hide.

No wear to corners or curves, just the commonly seen cracking and wear to the inking*, (edge sealent) at the top aperture sides and the back-flap, (hinge) of the bag. This is much less visible to the naked eye and doesn't affect the use of the piece in any way.

The shoulder strap and top handle are excellent.

The Postmans Lock Plate is excellent, with only a few, very small, vertical hairline scratches to the base curve perimeter. Underside plates disply light contact friction and the turnlock end has finish loss, though this is invisible without magnification.

Additional (not self lined) in clean, thick toffee toned suede with side zipped pocket and leather trimmed slip pocket.
