 Simple, structured & sleek, this First Edition CÉLINE Classic Bag is a masterpiece of design and materials.

Feminine, elegant and an organisational dream, this firm, satchel flap bag has sections for everything.....all fully lined in a divinely soft, caramel toned lambskin.

Crafted from a thick and nicely rigid, smooth and exceptionally finely grained, dark-tan coloured 'Box' calfskin, you can wear on the shoulder or remove the strap completely to carry as a roomy clutch. Its a piece that will transition effortlessly and is at home in the day as it is at night.

Please note - As a First Generation CÉLINE Classic Bag, these pieces were initially made without clasp closures on the shoulder strap. This original design simply had the push-through staff which held firmly through the hole selected. (The hinged-clasp mechanism was introducted at a later date).

Though entirely functional and secure, the owner of this bag wanted to replace with the new design and sent away to CÉLINE (via Harrods) to have one made. Unfortunately, its a slightly different colour to the bag! Both straps are included in the sale so you can chose which one you prefer. (I have attached the original strap for the photos.)

Details -

Perfectly shaped and without any real 'wear'....... pieces crafted in Box calfskin are very prone to scratches and fingernail scuffs from their very first use. This is the main reason for both the Condition Rating and the *notation.

Numerous surface scratches* have been acquired throughout this piece (all shown in the Gallery above) and form a completely natural feature of this hide with use. They don't affect the integrity of the piece in any way however the aesthetic of this finish can be an acquired taste and has been reflected in the price. 

A natural hide, there is gentle drying, tonal variations and light striations which again form a an entirely normal feature of this leather type. ("Celine bags are crafted in the finest skins available. These leathers are natural and unique: any incidental tonal variations, marks or veins are natural features and should not be considered as imperfections." Celine).

Stitching is tight throughout, edging all in place and hardware excellent.

The original shoulder strap displays the same natural drying as the bag (and is the same shade). No detriment or issue and functions perfectly.

The new shoulder strap is slightly firmer, darker in tone and has a small, dot scuff to the upper RH side of the middle hole, as shown.

The interior is excellent. Lined in clean, beautifully tactile, soft lambskin displaying only the slightest natural creasing and a few small fingernail scratches, (no marks or catches).

Three interior sections, one zip sealed and the front has a double slip pocket.
