This is a 100% authentic Hermés Vintage Classic Top Handle in Rouge H Box Calf with Gold Hardware.

Carry a piece of Hermés history, this classic, concertina, satchel flap from an era gone by, is the ultimate in understated elegance.

Simple, chic and sleek with its semi structured silhoutte and cassette styling, its a stunning example of Hermés design at its finest.

A timeless piece and though now vintage its in an amazing condition for its age and still so incredibly beautiful.

Firstly, let me start with the fact this grand old lady was born in 1952.

Utterly exquisite craftmanship and materials in partnership with very careful use and loving maintenance, has resulted in an outstandingy well kept piece.

Firm and upright, the glazed box leather is, colour consistent, with excellent tone and density throughout. Softening to the corner point areas, stitching all tight...the construction is very robust. A bag made to last.

Natural surface striations are part of the make up of this finish and though box calf does have a tendency to scratch, the inherent characteristics of this hide has concealed them extremely well and hence aged incredibly gracefully. There are numerous small, light fingernail scratches and shallow surface impresisons to the piece, though all extremely well camoflagued by the glossy nature of the leather. There is a single, small, round scuff to the hide, just about the LH sides base pin, as shown.

The top handle displays a slight lean and though not softened it has a little wave to the inner LH edging, as shown. There is slight drying and minor surfacing creasing to the top surface of the handle and edging is dry throughout the piece with wear to the flaps' two top side curves and loss around the handle's base loops. A couple of small scuffs to the edging on the sides of the bag, as shown. The egding can, of course, be renewed by a Restoration Agency, which would improve the condition immeasurably.

 The hardware is bright and shiny, however there is tarnish to the bottom (underside) edge of the front push lock and around the two, hexagonal base plaques of the handle. The underside plate displays circular dinks where its contacted with the base pins.

The accompanying, prestud sealed, envelope pouch (which would have once contained a handbag mirror) displays no detriment.

The interior is fully lined in the most buttery soft, rouge lambskin. Entirely clean, (any white marks are purely light reflections), there is natural creasing to the hide and one tiny dot sized catch, just above the LH side of the rear, prestud sealed, flap pocket. 

Old yes.....but without a shadow of a doubt, divine!
