This is a 100% authentic Mulberry Vintage Ledbury Small Bayswater in Black Darwin Leather with Antiqued Golden Brass Hardware. 

The precursor to the Small Bayswater Satchel, (no shoulder strap) the Ledbury is a perfectly proportioned, top-handle bag.

Crafted from arguably Mulberry's finest 'natural' leather, Darwin, it's an absolute delight to the eye and the senses!

If you're anything like me and love Mulberry's older designs & leathers, this beautiful, small Bayswater will make you swoon. 

Crafted from a creasy & characterful Darwin leather hide, it's one of those bags that makes you remember why Mulberry became great.

Marvellously robust with that glossy finish that only develops with time and care, it's gloriously thick and has only grown lovelier with use.

Strong yet supple, the form is softened so will slouch when empty and the top handles droop .....but there's no real wear to the hide. A few light surface scuffs which form part of the finish, corners and curves are perfect, (any white marks in the photos are purely light reflections). Just one tiny dot scratch to the front, lower RH side's vertical trim, (see location circled and shown with the zoom,) completely camouflaged by the nature of the hide.

Light surface impressions to the floppy top flap from the handle bases, as is commonly seen on this model. Inking [edge selant] all in place in around the top aperture and handles, until you get to the handle bases which have softened and inking is absent, though this doesn't affect the use of the bag in any way.

Stitching in place and super strong.....this is a Mulberry built to last.

The Postmans Lock plate displays a few scratches, underside and base plate are very good and there are friction scratches to the sides of the turnlock end. A nice creak to the turnlock's 'turn', there's no detriment or losening to its function.

Self lined in clean, ruffled suede displaying age related discolouration. Please note, there are no internal pockets on this design and the aperture of the bag can be altered via the internal belt.
