Mulberry Vintage Despatch Crossbody in Chestnut Nile Leather - SOLD

This is a 100% authentic, Mulberry Vintage Despatch in Chestnut Nile Leather with Antique Brass Hardware. 

Own a piece of Mulberry history, this original crossbody bag was first designed by Mulberry's founder, Roger Saul in 1977.  

Crafted from a firm, glossy, scale-printed hide (which was named Oak at the time but is definately more of a chestnut tone), Nile leather is a vegetable-tanned calfskin embossed with a mixed size scale to replicate alligator skin.

Characterful, cool and semi-structured with classic, saddle bag curves and closing with a proper buckle fastener, this is a very special piece from an era gone by.

Lined in Mulberry's original Ancient Tartan and accompanied by the Tree embossed leather patch ...don't let the crazy price put you off!

Sometimes its best to let the photos do the talking......this stunning piece has actually never been carried.

She's old, she's fabulous and the only reason for the *notation is due to the fact she would benefit from re-inking. (Inking is the sealent that goes on the side of the shoulder strap and any joined edges.) It's just beginning to become a little sticky from age.

All stitching tight, all entirely structurally sound and the interior entirely fresh and pristine.

A little waviness to the strap from storage, this old-skool beauty may be a Collectors piece but her real purpose in life is for use....and she's many years service left to give.
